Best 3PL Logistics Companies in Canada [2026]

Canada's 3PL logistics market is provincial: the province you warehouse in sets your sales tax, your language obligations and how far each parcel travels, so where you put your stock matters as much as who runs the warehouse.

We cover the Canadian fulfillment markets outside the three biggest hubs, which have their own guides: Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver.

Which Canadian Province Should You Choose for a 3PL?

The Canadian province you choose for a 3PL should follow where most of your customers are and which tax and language rules you're ready to handle.

Which Canadian Fulfillment Companies Operate in Each Region?

Canadian regional 3PLs split into ecommerce fulfillment specialists that sync with Shopify, and B2B warehouses built around pallets, cold storage and freight.

Alberta: Calgary and Edmonton

Alberta is the only province with no provincial sales tax, so a warehouse here charges 5% GST on its fees and nothing more.

  • MTE Logistix (Edmonton and Calgary): more than 3.5 million sq ft across both cities, with ecommerce pick and pack and same-day to two-day transit across the western provinces. Best for brands that want both Alberta cities under one contract.
  • Porter Warehousing & Distribution (Edmonton): 750,000 sq ft in northwest Edmonton with 98 dock doors and BRCGS-certified, food-grade space. Best for food, beverage and supplement brands that need certified storage.
  • Birkby (Calgary): ambient, cold and frozen storage with order fulfillment and cross-docking. Best for brands with temperature-sensitive stock.
  • JORI Logistics (Calgary): a family-owned 3PL with in-house Canadian and US customs brokerage. Best for importers and brands that ship across the US border.

Ottawa and Eastern Ontario

Ottawa sits on the Ontario–Quebec border, so a single Ottawa warehouse can serve customers in both provinces by ground.

  • Ottawa Logistics (Ottawa): Shopify-focused fulfillment with automated order sync, aimed at brands shipping more than 1,000 orders a month. Best for high-volume Shopify brands.
  • ByExpress (Ottawa): native Shopify, Amazon and EDI integrations, with Amazon FBA prep alongside DTC and B2B fulfillment. Best for brands selling on Shopify and Amazon at the same time.
  • Wills Transfer (Ottawa and Eastern Ontario): more than 200,000 sq ft of Ottawa distribution space, plus SQF food-grade and refrigerated warehousing in Smiths Falls, serving the region since 1945. Best for retail and B2B replenishment.

Quebec City and Lévis

Quebec City's 3PLs are built for B2B and food logistics rather than parcel fulfillment: none of the providers we verified here lists a Shopify integration. For D2C parcel orders into Quebec, most Shopify brands use a Montreal 3PL.

  • Congebec (Quebec City): BRC-certified fresh, frozen and ambient food warehousing, with 11 warehouses across Canada. Best for food and beverage brands.
  • Groupe Guilbault (Quebec City): more than 800,000 sq ft of heated warehousing with a WMS, container unloading and pallet picking. Best for brands supplying Quebec retailers by the pallet.
  • Logistique CAF (Lévis): warehousing and handling with a client portal for real-time inventory data, across the St. Lawrence from Quebec City. Best for B2B brands that want live stock visibility.

Manitoba: Winnipeg

Winnipeg is the largest city between Toronto and Calgary, and the Emerson–Pembina crossing gives it a direct road link to the US Midwest.

  • RS Distribution Services, The RS Group (Winnipeg): pick and pack, kitting, bonded warehousing, and lot, serial and expiry-date tracking. Best for brands with batch-tracked or dated products.
  • RT Logistix (Winnipeg): climate-controlled racked and bulk storage with cross-docking and fulfillment. It now runs the commercial warehousing formerly offered under Rolly's Transfer. Best for brands that need flexible storage.
  • Getpaq (Winnipeg): B2C ecommerce order management for mid-sized businesses, with further sites in Montreal and Delta, BC. Best for brands that want one provider across Winnipeg and Montreal.
  • AJW Warehousing (Winnipeg): FEFO and FIFO stock rotation, a web-based inventory portal and cross-docking. Best for manufacturers and industrial goods.

Warehouse sizes, certifications and services above are as each provider states them on its own website.

Which 3PLs Have Warehouses Across Canada?

Metro Supply Chain, GoBolt and 18 Wheels Logistics are the 3PLs we verified with warehouses in several of the regions in this guide, which makes them the simplest choice if you'd rather run one contract across provinces.

How Do You Choose the Right Canadian 3PL?

Choosing a Canadian 3PL starts with where your orders go, then whether the provider fulfills parcels or moves pallets.

  1. Map your order destinations. If most orders go west of Ontario, start with Alberta. If they split between Ontario and Quebec, Ottawa covers both. If they're spread nationally, a provider with several provincial sites, or two warehouses, beats one site at the far end of the country.
  2. Check parcel versus pallet. About half of the regional providers here are B2B or food warehouses. Ask for a live demo of the Shopify connection and confirm real-time order and stock sync.
  3. Plan for Quebec's language rules. Products sold in Quebec need French on labels and packaging under the Charter of the French Language, which Bill 96 tightened in 2025. Confirm your packaging is compliant before you stock a Quebec warehouse.
  4. Run a trial batch. Send 20 to 50 orders through your shortlisted 3PL before signing. Measure pick accuracy, dispatch time and how fast they resolve an exception.

What Sales Taxes Apply to a Canadian 3PL?

The federal 5% GST applies across Canada, and each province sets its own sales tax on top: none in Alberta, 13% HST in Ontario (which includes the GST), 9.975% QST in Quebec and 7% RST in Manitoba.

Which of these apply to your 3PL's fees, and to the products you sell, depends on where the service is delivered and where your customer is, so confirm the details with your accountant.

Brands importing stock into Canada also need a business number with an import account, and manage duties and taxes through the CBSA's CARM portal, which became mandatory in October 2024.

Frequently Asked Questions About Canadian 3PLs

What is the best 3PL in Canada for a Shopify brand?

For Shopify brands outside Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver, Ottawa Logistics and ByExpress in Ottawa are the most ecommerce-focused regional options in this guide. GoBolt and ShipBob both have native Shopify apps, from five cities and the Toronto area respectively.

Which Canadian province has the lowest sales tax for a 3PL?

Alberta has the lowest sales tax for a 3PL, because it has no provincial sales tax and only the federal 5% GST applies.

Do I need a Canadian 3PL if I already ship from the US?

You don't strictly need one, but cross-border parcels can carry duties, brokerage fees and longer delivery times for your customers. Holding stock in a Canadian 3PL means you import in bulk once and ship domestically from there.

Can one Canadian warehouse serve the whole country?

One Canadian warehouse can serve the whole country, but customers at the far coast wait longer. Many brands start with one site and add a second in another province once order volume justifies it.

Are there ecommerce 3PLs in Quebec City?
